Gardening/horticulture placement wanted

Postby legz » Wed Sep 06, 2006 2:28 am

for a 16 year old school leaver.

Young lad concerned can travel anywhere between Mansfield, Worksop, Chesterfield, South + East sides of Sheffield very easily.

Diagnosed with ADHD and on permanent medication, which affects his communication (very quiet, makes little eye contact) more than anything else ... BUT...

has completed several work placements through school in garden centres, tree-surgeons, sports courses and has excellent references, a natural flair for this kind of work, a portfolio of projects he's already done, and will devote himself to any task and take great pride in it. Is also not afraid to graft!!

NVQ Training is already arranged, and part of wages subsidised.

PM me if able to help!!

Are you aware of Brooke Farm? It's part of County Council's supported employment and they are a great team who work there. Their main site is at Linby but they've also got units in Balderton, Worksop and Skegby. http://www.brooke-farm.co.uk/

Then manager is Kenwyn Smith.

Hope you have some success with them, we do their website and I love having meetings at their units, they really are a lovely bunch and they do some amazing work.

You can tell them I sent you, I don't think I've ever upset them!
