Making A Pop Video

Postby legz » Tue Feb 27, 2007 12:56 am

Who fancies being in one then?

Cant give too much info away at the moment, as we're still finishing getting official clearance to film in certain areas. Its part of a music industry project for teenagers that I'm involved with, not too far away from here, thats managed to get some half-decent backing. Coverage is likely to be initially on a satellite music channel, but there are links to a terrestrial station, too. Two of the main character roles in the video have been offered to and accepted by Birklands schoolkids, hence the local link.

No acting/dancing ability needed, and, of course, its all non-speaking parts. Just the ability to get up early one morning in May.

PM me if interested.

Its not going too badly.

We've been waiting for clearance from 2 local authorities and a church to film, we've had the go-ahead from 1 council, and a church has said theyd love to be involved with the location setting. So thats 2 out of 3. Once it becomes 3 out of 3, we just have to clear things with the local police, which should be OK. (we're using areas that have been used for some very hi-profile filming before, so theyre used to it).

Only other thing holding us up is that one of the tunes has a sample in it from a very famous song indeed, so we're sweating a bit on getting the copyright cleared. Otherwise we're cooking on gas!

As far as the local kids go, I'm including a couple of girls from Birklands in the video if I can, and possibly a couple more in some spraycan art associated with the project. But we'll take others in, as long as they or their parents arent delusional!

If anyones interested in what this project does, theres a concert arranged for tursday 29th at the miners welfare in Eckngton. 2.50 on the door. Theres 7 music acts, all between 12 and 19, doing indie music, r'n'b, hiphop, speed garage, and mainstream pop. Everything behind the scenes has been done by kids too, whether it be designing the promotional stuff, talking to the press, filming, recording, doing the make up and outfit design, the works. Theres a website on its way that I'll post on here when its nearer completion
