Is Warsop having a Christmas market this year, if so when??
Also, does anyone know when Shirebrook are having theirs & any other local Xmas markets please? :)

I haven't heard anything about a Christmas market this year, so I don't think we're having one. I really have enjoyed organising them in past years and I'd love to organise another but with my work commitments I just can't devote the time it needs. We have a very small group of volunteers who organise the majority of community events and the carnival takes a whole year to plan, so it boils down to there just not being enough volunteers.

Kev has posted about a Christmas Fayre at the Longden Terrace club, which sounds like a good plan.

This year we are hosting a Warsop Christmas Fayre at Longden Terrace on the 4th December from 6pm to 9pm. Featuring a variety of commercial and charity stalls all offering Christmas gift ideas, it's a great opportunity to pick up a last minute present. There will be music, games, the climbing wall, hot food and drinks, Santa's Grotto and a chance to get into the Christmas spirit. http://forum.warsopweb.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6932

Oh no, that's sad :( I love our Christmas market but fully understand the time & effort that it takes to organise. When are the lights being turned on & is anything happening then?

I'm really not sure about the lights, though it's usually early in December. We rely on Mansfield District Council to deal with the electricity supplies but in the past, putting up the Christmas trees was organised by volunteers, though the task has now fallen to the Parish Council.
