Warsop Pantomime 2008

Postby Tomas Drouty » Thu May 29, 2008 4:44 pm

After reading Muso's comments in the June edition of W&D News I thought I'd better start this topic, otherwise he might get into trouble with Trading Standards or something!

This year's pantomime will be Cinderella.

It was on at the Palace theatre last year and also both Spotlight studios and Birklands school have also recently put on performances of this pantomime. However, the reason we have chosen this script is because it is incredibly funny, will be very entertaining and a favourite amongst last year's cast.

Rehearsals will probably begin in earnest after the carnival and there will possibly be the opportunity for some extra members to join the production and tread the boards along with last year's cast.

Further details will be posted in due course ... but remember you heard it here first!

The dates for the pantomine this year are:

Friday 26th December matinee and evening.
Saturday 27th December matinee and evening.

All major roles have been cast but we do still have plenty of vacancies for chorus roles should anybody be interested!

Can you give us some names of the members of the cast please, as I can't recognise a lot of them from the poster.
Also, are you expecting a sell out for the Panto, and is there any concessions on the ticket price for the Senior Citizens?

It was a sell-out last year for most performances. This year there are half as many performances, so you will need to get your tickets early.

I'm not sure who's playing which character this year but some of the cast are:
Karen Smith, Steve Smith, Gemma, Bev Emery, Jeanne Raspin, Katie and I think Dave Drury is playing the Dame, he was excellent last year!
Mrs Warsop Web, Warsop born and bred!

Main cast members are....

Gemma Gill, Bev Emery, Shaun Pritchard, Karen Smith, Steve Smith, Craig Parkin, Amy West, Dave Freer, Jeannie Raspin, Jeff (err .. i just call him panto Jeff!), plus support from Laura (?), Jeff Antcliffe, Pat Pritchard.

The ticket price is a one flat rate of £3... which is the same price as concessions were last year if memory serves me right (but don't quote me on that).
