kennings and British Rail

Can anyone remember the green kenning oil tanks off Mansfield Road and the British Rail Engineering office opposite, were i worked for a time

Do you mean the gas tanks at the side of the old railway station? I remember those!

I think we called them "gas tanks" but they was in fact petrol and/or oil delivered there by rail and distibuted to local garages by road.

I vaguely remember this being talked about many moons ago.
