Caravans on Carrs

Postby Westmorland » Wed Aug 08, 2012 7:18 pm

Caravans and four by fours have appeared on the Carrs (road side ) this evening. Anyone know anything about it?

I was just going to post about this. I have just come from Warsop and there are three caravans and a white van on there at the moment.

I saw them arrive at 6pm - 3 vans and three caravans, five different registration numbers (one caravan didn't have a registration plate)! One of our Neighbourhood Wardens was there at the time so the authorities are aware of them.
One of the vans is emblazoned with decals for cheap roofing, so be aware...

Speaking as a sort of gypsy myself :D ( living in a caravan ) :D Whats wrong with them resting on the Carrs for a few days :?:
Screw the padded room, give me a trampoline floor with bubble wrapped walls and a velcro ceiling.

'Wild' camping is frowned upon these days - if you were in your private car and caravan, or motorhome, and pulled up in a remote lay-by to camp overnight, chances are you would be moved on pretty quickly. The only people to get away with it are those in groups driving commercial vans with illegal numberplates

There is nothing wrong if they treated the space with respect and caused no problems. Unfortunately, the last lot that was there dumped rubbish everywhere, let their dogs run wild and emptied their latrines on the site.

I suppose one could argue that we shouldn't tarnish all with the same brush but The Carrs is one of the areas in Warsop that we can take real pride in so we understandably get very protective over it.

They should be moved on to a proper site asap

Maybe if they turned up in old style caravans pulled with horses then it may be different.

I agree with this but only if the same provision was available to everybody and not just one community.

Unfortunately, i think "The Travelling Community" is one of the few groups (ethnic minorities??? ) that you can tar with the same brush.
