Cruelty

Postby Mustaine » Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:31 pm

We've been fostering 2 cats (one year olds) for my son & his girlfriend while they're inbetween houses. They rarely leave the garden but 2 days ago one of them fell ill. A visit to the Vet has revealed that he is very stiff and probably depressed at having most likely been abused. His back end is very sore which made the Vet feel he had been "interfered with". I think more likely is that someone has given him a kick up the backside. How cruel is that? I know that not everyone likes cats but there are kinder ways to deter them than kicking them! Who was it that said "you can judge a country by the way it treats its animals"?

Ahh, I'm so sorry to hear that Musty. As you know, I'm a cat lover - did you know we had to have our Smog put to sleep between Christmas and New Year? She was 18 though and we'd totally pampered her, so she had a good life. :D

I won't have another cat or dog now as we're getting ready for retiring and will be off travelling, so it wouldn't be fair of us to have animals. I've still got two rabbits that live on the back garden, they're over six year old now.

Yes - I read your "Goodnight Smog" posts - very sad. I remember her as a kitten - she must have lead a very good life to reach that ripe old age!

I'M NOT A VIOLENT MAN .. ALTHOUGH I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF .. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO KIDS OR DEFENCELESS ANIMALS .. I CAN FEEL A RAGE INSIDE ME .. I REMEMBER ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO BACK IN LIVERPOOL .. ABOUT 5 MINS FROM WHERE I LIVED .. SCUMBAGS HUNG 2 CATS UP ON TELEPHONE LINES OVER ONE THE MAIN ROADS INTO LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE .. THIS SICKENING ACT CAUSED OUTRAGE AT THE TIME .. ALSO AT THIS TIME WE HAD 4 CATS AND I SWEAR .. IF ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED TO THEM .. I WOULD OF HUNTED THESE LOW LIFE DOWN .. AND DONE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE ..

After seeing a clip I steered well clear of it.

Don't turn your back on the cat - it'll be under the floorboards like a rat up a drain pipe.

I saw it and was shocked by it. I'd always use a local reputable vet for my animals. I agree with bluey, I think such acts are those of sick minds.

Thankfully he has recovered now - he'll be moving to his new home in a few weeks - if everything goes to plan - but I'll be sad to see them both go.
