Tremor

Postby Mustaine » Sun Nov 22, 2015 9:30 am

Did anyone feel an earth tremor in the middle of the night? Something woke me up and the bedroom was rumbling.....and no, I hadn't been drinking!

Something woke me in the middle of the night as well and I don't usually wake up, yet I woke twice last night. I've had a look on the earthquake report and there doesn't seem to have been any last night, although there were some here on Thursday and Friday. http://earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/earthquakes/recent_uk_events.html

Maybe it was weekend revellers coming home in the early hours that woke us both, seeing as we live so close to the main road. I sleep with my window open and that does wake me on the odd occasion. Apart from that, there have been no strange happenings at our house. Let us know if you find anything amiss.

Just had a look at the recent earthquakes map from the BGS and it does seem like there is a line of quakes running across the country W-E. Interesting to see in a short time scale. 8-)

With all the minor tremors we've had in Warsop, I was wondering if it's to do with the mines underneath us.
