Re: Netto

I really hope Netto do come to Warsop. We need a decent supermarket to bring people in.
I went in Boyes for the first time today and thought how nice and clean looking it is. There weren't many people shopping there but the sell the kind of things you don't want every day. If they are to survive, they need something else to work alongside them to bring in the shoppers. Cue Netto!

I did wonder what effect Boyes is having on Spencer's as they sell some of the same kind of things. If Boyes does Spencer's out of business and then closes itself due to lack of custom, we won't have a hardware outlet.

Yes, the shop looks OK but I don't think it will survive without something else. People need something else to bring them to Warsop. They're not going to come to Boyes alone because they don't sell the kind of things you need every day. Netto might have Warsop on their list but they need to get on with it pretty sharpish, for Boyes to benefit.

I just hope Boyes don't do other small shops out of business and then close, otherwise we'll have nothing at all in Warsop except more empty shops. There are a lot of good possibilities, if only they happen in time.

Spas and hot tubs are a bit specialist and not the kind of thing they'd sell a lot of in Warsop but I'd expect they'd sell a lot online and need a showroom base. So here is as good as anywhere I suppose and at least it's not an empty building.

On the contrary Al, hot tubs are meant for cold weather. They're very popular in Scotland and even more so in Canada. I went in a hot tub in Canada when it was minus 30 and everyone's hair was frozen. :)

They had planned to open the store in September 2016

There has been heavy machinery on the old Eastwood land this week so it looks like they've started doing some more clearing. Although as far as I can see, no plans have yet been passed for a Netto, but I'm hopeful.
