Lonely Racing Pigeon

Postby mikeC » Thu Jul 10, 2014 8:47 pm

Can anyone help a lost racing pigeon?

We've got one that has taken up residence in our garden; he's now been here for over twenty four hours, and doesn't seem to be able to find his way home! He's obviously familiar with humans, as he doesn't fly away, and responds when talked to, but I don't know how to actually capture him in order to read his identity - he's ringed on one foot, and appears to have a green rubber band on the other.

Is there anyone out there who is familiar with handling pigeons, so that we can trace his owner?

Is it "puff pastry" or shortcrust for pigeon pie :?: :?:
Screw the padded room, give me a trampoline floor with bubble wrapped walls and a velcro ceiling.

We had one on our garden a few years ago and were told that this often happens and it would hang around for 2 or 3 days to rest up and then it would find its way home. I hope yours does! Keep us informed.
