Trying to sell a house

Postby Cheshire Cat » Thu Sep 26, 2013 11:56 pm

I'm trying to sell a house in Warsop. So far I've had very few viewings.

Initially it was advertised with Rooftops on the post office corner and we did have a buyer but they dropped out because their buyer dropped out. Since then rooftops have stopped doing sales and only concentrate on lettings. They transferred all their stuff for sale to Gasgoines at Ollerton. There hasn't been much interest and I'm thinking it's because we are with the wrong agent. Any suggestions/recommendations?

You will not want to hear this - maybe ! :(

Sold at 20% off the estate agents market value.
I'm no expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are quite a few Newton Fallowell For Sale boards up around Warsop lately, so they seem to be the up and coming estate agent around here and the market must be picking up as there are more Sold signs now than there have been for some time.

Thanks,

We had two estate agents around initially. Their valuations varied by 15%. We went with the lower one but it seems it still isn't low enough. I've just heard we have another viewing this week. Perhaps our luck will change but if not I'll give the people you suggest a go Caz.

Good luck with the viewing Chesh. As I said, the market seems to be picking up so hang on in there and keep your fingers crossed. According to the media, house prices have started to rise in the past three or four months, so I think people are probably jumping in whilst prices are still at a low.
