heres my method, close eyes and vote, because whoever in any government or political role wins we'll get screwed over anyway so what does it matter who gets in lol

Warsop Person wrote:My postal ballot paper has arrived today so it is decision time.

I have come to the conclusion that I have not 1 iota of a clue what the incumbent has done for Warsop and the only candidate that has made 1 scrap of effort to win votes is the MIF candidate.

Now do I take the campaigning to be an indication of how much effort the candidates will put in if elected? Do I assume that the incumbent is that good he does not need to canvas the electorate? Does the fact I know nothing about the other candidates other than thier political allegiance matter? Do I assume they are all as good or bad as each other and not bother voting?

Decisions, decision, decisions.

Many thanks for recognising the efforts that I have put in during my campaign.
I an sorry that I have not responded more promptly to all of the most recent posts but I have been having some password problems.

A big thanks to everyone for their comments over the last three months or so. If I am succesful I will look to keep on fielding your views through this forum.

And finally....for now, I came into this because I want to make a difference and not just complain about the system. I have met many residents on my travels who are also fed up with the present situation and political climate. I'm doing my small bit to make a change, I hope that everyone else will do theirs by getting out to use their vote which is a precious commodity in today's world.

The weather forecast is good - see you at the polls! Thanks to you all.

It will be interesting to see what the turn out will be

It seems to have been a quite low key campaign affair in Warsop, at tone time you use to see posters for all candidates standing all around Warsop, but compared to Chesterfield I have not see very many.

If people do not make the effort to vote then they can not complain about the way the County is being governed

What do you mean Adrian when you say that if people don't vote they cannot complain about how the county is governed?
I matters not a whit how many or how few people vote or what party they vote for, the result will be the same. These people, with very few exceptions, are only in it for what they can get out of it. The days when a candidate stood for election with the good of the community as the spur are long gone.
The voters are now treated with such contempt by the political class they don't even bother to canvass. A propaganda leaflet stuffed in the letter-box on a Sunday afternoon is all we are deemed worthy of. Democracy? Don't make me laugh.

Totally agree there and i firmly believe it is time that these said politicians were brought to account and made to pay for their mistakes and stupidity.

When I went to vote at 4pm today, I asked the voting clerk how busy it had been and they replied it had been slow.

Well at least I have voted, why people do not use their vote is worrying, it doesn't matter who you vote for just get out and use your vote when elections are called

I would say the Warsop battle will be between Labour and Independent

so just over a quarter of people of voting age in Warsop voted! How can any candidate say he or she has a mandate form the people when so few bothered to vote.

It will be interesting with such a low turn out to see who gets in !

Looks like Notts is going to be in NOC.

Another interesting fact is that the only UKIP councillor lost his seat
