NCC are three years into the four year plan you're quoting from Jeremy. Is it actually working? Where are the real results?
The three priorities sound wonderful, but to quote the old proverb; 'Fine words butter no parsnips'.
Just talking about something doesn't necessarily mean it will get done.
We've heard it all before.

So, in reality, you will be exactly the same as those that are in power and others that want to be in power.
You shout that you will listen to the people you represent, you say that their views will be acted on, when in fact you will vote as you are told to do by your party.

Another (genuine in my view) is that how do you persuade people that you are passionate about Warsop when you neither live here nor permanently work here. If you live in another area, why are you not standing in that area, surely you would feel more passionate about your own area. I suspect that if a vote was between your local area and Warsop, I don't think Warsop would win.
I think at local politics level it is important to select a local person.

You make a valid point in that, even if the priorities are the right ones, unless they are delivered they are of small worth.
I do hope to be in a position where, whatever priorities are adopted for the future I will work hard to ensure Warsop gets its fair share.

I respect your view about a local person - but naturally do not agree,
I believe that I am a good and capable candidate with a heart for Warsop.
I am sorry that you feel that I would favour another area but my values would not allow me to do that. If elected I will be 100% committed to Warsop.

After 15 years in private sector business and 17 years managing local authority community resources I know when to make a stand and when to be patient to get the best results. I don't have to wear a rosette or badge of any coulour to achieve this.

Listening to all views and and working together ( probably with different people at different times) is still my preferred way of working.

The only people who will tell me how to vote are the people of Warsop.

I have today received a work of fiction through the letterbox from the Conservative party telling me all about their cutbacks over the last four years and that I should vote for them for a further four years of no investment and further cutbacks

I thought though we only had a Labour and Independent Candidates standing in the village for the County Councillor

THIS IS STRANGE BUT TRUE

What difference dose it make ? they are all in it for one thing only, and that is what they can get out of it.
Screw the padded room, give me a trampoline floor with bubble wrapped walls and a velcro ceiling.

So Mr Reagen perhaps you would like to tell the people of Warsop were you stand on the following issue as I am sure it effects many people in the Parish

Yesterday, the UK Coalition Government introduced the ‘Bedroom Tax’ which affects 670,000 people (most cruelly those with disabilities) and will mean they end up paying on average £728 more a year. This will save the Exchequer £490m.

Next week, the UK Coalition Government introduces a cut in the highest rate of income tax. The UK’s 13,000 millionaires will each benefit on average £100,769 a year. This will cost the Exchequer £3 billion.

“Austerity” is a lie.

In a time when life is tough and getting tougher for the majority, the national government should be setting good examples of financial restraint by not giving large tax breaks to those who can well manage without them.
I also look to Government to show restraint over salaries, pensions and expenses for MP's. Government should keep it's own house in order especially when many individuals and families are being asked to work for less or manage on less.

In practice I feel that the "bedroom tax" is unfair. Fo example I would not want to be forced to move after putting down roots in a community after perhaps having raised my family there.

Now that the nominations have closed we can see that there are two more candidates. So four altogether. Does anyone know if the latest two have any connection at all with Warsop?

At least you can say have "a connection" with Warsop, Jeremy. With the limited info i could find on the other two i suspect they don't even know were Warsop is.

My postal ballot paper has arrived today so it is decision time.

I have come to the conclusion that I have not 1 iota of a clue what the incumbent has done for Warsop and the only candidate that has made 1 scrap of effort to win votes is the MIF candidate.

Now do I take the campaigning to be an indication of how much effort the candidates will put in if elected? Do I assume that the incumbent is that good he does not need to canvas the electorate? Does the fact I know nothing about the other candidates other than thier political allegiance matter? Do I assume they are all as good or bad as each other and not bother voting?

Decisions, decision, decisions.
