It was but then it changed and now it might change back. It's just that other organisations can't fit in the carnival with other commitments so they'll have to discuss it together and come back with a date that suits them all.

I'd hang fire a bit. The committtee have a meeting tonight and may have agreed a date. I'm not on the committee this year so I won't be at tonight's meeting but I should get to know what's happening and will post as soon as I do.

There are 2 camps when it comes to whether or not there should be a music / beer tent on the Carrs for the carnival.

Many people really enjoy the music tent.. but some people do not like the trouble it sometimes brings.

MDC are making their position quite clear by now applying for this alteration to their license.

The DPPOs have been in position since Aug 1st .. yet the parks department have chosen now, a mere few weeks away from the carnival, to apply for the modifications... meaning the carnival committee have another wall placed in front of them to climb.. imposed upon them by MDC in order to get the event running.

In truth, MDC do not want the people of Warsop to have a carnival.

They haven't made the same application for Titchfield Park .. perhaps because they NEED that for their Party in the Park.

Does a response have to be in writing or will they accept an email?

It states you have to write by 30th June to the licensing manager .. doesn't specify that email would not be counted.

The parks department has a premises license which covers The Carrs, Titchfield Park and one other that I can't remember... they are basically asking that The Carrs now be excluded but not the other 2.

What the $%^&&& are they playing at now.

Why don't they just ban the carnival and be done with it. Or do they feel sadistic by putting obstacles in our way and laugh watching us trying to get over them
