Re: Carnival 2010

I've just received a press release from MDC with their big line up of Summer in the Streets events. Not a single mention of Warsop Carnival!!!

What happened there then? As if I need ask!! The Mayor came to the first Warsop Carnival 2010 meeting and asked for the date to be changed from the first weekend in July (which it's been for many years), becasue he wanted to bill it as the big starting event of Summer in the Streets. He also said funding would come our way from that budget! My foot!

I think the reason he asked for a change of date was because Warsop Carnival coincides with an event in Mansfield and they wanted people there rather than at the carnival. I suspected that was his reason as he mentioned it last year.

If it coincides with an event in Mansfield then i can't see many people from Warsop going to it.......

Shock........ Horror....... Another let down by MDC for Warsop.
Probably pay back time for all the hassle our Glorified Leader leader and his Cronies are getting from Warsop residents over the pool closure, and complaints that we aren't getting our fair share of the funding etc.
Nothing to do with the resignation of the Independent Council member then?? :^o
Mr Egginton, stand up and take a bow, you must be so proud of yourself! :^o :^o :^o

Warsop resindents believe that mdc dont give 2 hoots about us etc and all the moaning we have done because of that. mdc say we do get our share but you would think that they would go out on a limb to prove us wrong IF they believe they look after us which they obviously DON'T.

surprise surprise theres been no acknowledgement or response to my email about the licensing either.

I have had no acknowledgement to my letter either, I sent it both e and snail mail. This goes back to the topic in the Debates section on here, Who should govern Warsop?.

I personally can't understand what Mansfield have against Warsop and why they feel the need to penalise us here in Warsop all of the time over everything they can.

I think it's because Warsop is the only parish in the Mansfield District. All other districts and boroughs in Notts have several parishes and they know how to look after them. Mansfield obviously forgets it's got a parish that it's supposed to look after.
