BT Broadband Problem

Postby Caz » Fri Oct 14, 2011 7:24 pm

BT broadband shut down this morning whilst I was using the internet. Now I can connect to my own server but not to others. It seems this is a problem throughout the region. Hopefully it won't be down for much longer!

Sounds like a routing problem.

I plug the 3g phone into my laptop as a standby service, slow but works.
I'm no expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

We're back up here now (about 8:30pm).

I'm told it's this one:
We are aware of a temporary problem in the North Wales, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire areas that are causing some people trouble accessing the internet. We are sorry if you have been affected by this, our engineers are now working to resolve this and we expect to have service back to normal shortly.

Not that it says much...

Yes Magic, that's the one. It's back up at the moment but my broadband connection still keeps dropping occassionally, so it's not settled properly yet.
