BT Fon Wi-Fi

Postby Caz » Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:26 am

Has anyone signed up for BT fon? If you have BT Broadband you can sign up to it and access hotspot areas when out and about with your laptop and it doesn't cost any more. I've signed up but haven't tried it out yet.

The idea is that you create a wireless hotspot that allows other BT fon users access to the internet through your wireless connection, they can't access your computer, so it's secure. When you're out and about you can access the internet through other BT fon users connections. The more people who join, the more hotspots there will be, so eventually you should be able to go anywhere in the UK and get an internet connection on your laptop without it costing you any more.

Yes, well it's about time they got the coms systems integrated in this country! We're way behind other European countries and way more expensive as well.
