I've had one for quite a while on my bedroom tele. Although you do get more channels, and i think for £50 it's worth it, it isn't as good as it is advertised at.

For a start, above 1/2 the channels are radio stations, some of the advertised channels, film, gold etc are available but with a subscription.
Other channels revert to shopping channels at various times of the day.
There is only one music channel available for free, and to top it all we are not in a good reception area, so we also lose a few channels there.

As i said, i think it is worth the £50, but in reality you have about 10 channels to pick from.

Things are changing all the time, but this is how it stands at the moment, but i think anyone wanting it as a replacement for Sky will be disappointed

We've got Sky and we've also got freeview in our Dan's Room. The Freeview box cost less than £20 from ASDA but we had to buy a set top aerial for it to work properly, but I think that was only about a tenner. That was well worth it but the freeview would nowhere near replace Sky.

It is, but I aleady pay over £50 a month and refuse to pay another £10 on top of that to get it in another room. We can get it in all rooms but we all have to watch the same channel, so freeview comes in handy as well.

We have BT Vision, thats pretty good, you can have a package deal like sky, or pay as you view, Vision boxes cose about £90 but they give them away for certain deals, but you also need a BT home hub.
you can watch reruns of programmes like the Vicar of Dibley,
You also get the freeview built in and you can recored to the harddrive like sky.
