In the big photo the bit you can see is about 2 feet across :)
I'm no expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's the top of a church tower bell.

I can see where TD's coming from there! It does look like the top of a bell but that's hardly an everyday item.

I've also tried cheating and right clicked to save the picture but he's only got it listed as 'photo 2' so that's no help!

It's not an everyday household item - but anyone could see the item on a visit to the National Trust location - in fact there are a number in the same location. And as said above this is not small and you can see a lot of it in the second photo.

I used bell as in the whole object, not part. :)
