Hmm ... I thought I posted a reply on here straight after bignij's ... which means probably there is a random posting about this riddle's answer on a different topic somewhere.

The answer to this riddle is highly likely for the following reason.


There are millions of people in the world who only have 1 arm and many others who have no arms. Certainly many, many more than the number of people with more than two arms. Due to this, the 'mean' number of arms per person is less than 2. Meaning everybody with 2 arms actually has more than the average (mean) number of arms. Therefore it is highly likely that the next person you see in the street has more than the average (mean) number of arms.
