Apparently some shoppers in Kendal have been reporting staff for charging them 5 pence for a carrier bag

get a bag for life then you can use it as much as you want

This will REALLY affect the people of Warsop.

it is an example of how people are moaning about paying 5 pence for a carrier bag the price of which I agree with

as you can see from this news report it effects the whole of the country

Kendal is just one example of customers moaning which is why this has not been posted on Warsop Chatter

It's a load of rubbish I used old carrier bags in my bins I'v got to buy some now :cry:

Well, it's the law now but it only applies to large shops with over a certain number of staff, other shops can charge what they like. The big shops that the law covers are supposed to be donating your 5p to charities.

I will personally miss my free bags because I re-use them as bin bags. Now I will have to buy plastic bin liners instead, so I'm hardly going to be saving the environment as I'll still be throwing away plastic, only it will be new plastic that hasn't already been used to carry my shopping home in.
